I sent in a 40-second clip from "How Bout Them Cowgirls" by George Strait and only got back a 25-second clip for a ringtone. It sounds HORRIBLE because of the cut off. I'm TRYING to get the FULL chorus in as a ringtone. Why didn't I get the full 40 seconds? That is exactly how long the chorus is and it would've sounded GREAT!

(@Jessica K.) My ringtone did that too! And I tried it again but it STILL didn't work. :(

(@Jessica K.) I have the same problem. It always cuts off at 25 seconds and it's very annoying.

(@Jessica K.) The same thing has happened to me several times already. I know my phone is capable of holding entire songs let alone a 40 sec clip, so what's the deal?
+23 Hours
(@Stacy S.) Did you download it the correct way?
Most phones have a option to download media from text messages. Downloading media this way worsens the quality of the media. In order to send picture messages quickly, Mobile17 probably shortens and downgrades the song in the text. The song that plays in the picture message is only meant to be a sample so you can know which song you are going to download.
You must follow the link in the pic text and pick the proper downloading option from the 15 presented in order to get the full-length ringtone with nice quality.
Shortcuts cut short. Remember that. So do it the long way, the way the text message instructs you to do it. Mkay?

(@Jessica K.) YA!!! omg its super annoying....

(@Ebon Dara McGlown) I've taken no short cuts. I'm doing absolutely nothing different than I have before. I've been a subscriber to this site for a couple of years now. I don't get picture messages. I get a text with a link (sometimes....)I use my phone browser to go to the link and download. I've tried every option on the download page and each one has my ringtone cut down to 25 seconds. This hasn't started happening until this site did its most recent makeover. My phone, carrier, and everything else is the same. MOBILE17 is the only thing that has changed. Even the way pics are uploaded is different and not as convenient as before. I wish I would've known the changes here would affect me in this manner before I'd bought a one year subscription.

(@Stacy S.) Hi all:
This should be fixed now.

(@Ben Guild) Thanks for responding so swiftly! I'd forgotten to mention that the reason I subscribe and have been coming back here, year after year, is because I LOVE this site and I appreciate the work that you do here. Sorry if I came off as whiny! lol

(@Ben Guild) I just tried it again. It still only gave me a 25 second clip. But it's given me the whole 40 seconds before. Just not anymore. Why?!
+1 Day
(@Ben Guild) Still having the problem.

(@Meg C.) Same deal here..

(@Jessica K.) Mine does the same thing I dont know what to do It worked perfectly before but now everything is only 25 sec long. I get it through a Pix-flix message

(@Ben Guild) I loved this site and has donated money in the past and I got exactly what I wanted. Now Mobile 17 uploads where it wants to and gives me that. And I paid for these. What can I do to have the tunes start and end where I indicate? thanks

(@Jessica K.) same happened to me? i have a blackberry on verizon and opened the ringtone via picture message, email, and thru my mobile browser and every time its only 25 seconds this has happened for multiple songs.
+2 Days
(@Corey Shufelt) Same! I have the same exact phone as before, and I still use Pix-Flix messages to get the ringtone. It worked perfectly before and now it cuts off at 25 seconds. RAWR

(@Jessica K.) Same thing happened to me, I thought it was just my new blackberry but I don't think that's the problem.
+59 Minutes
(@Ben Guild) It's not.
+3 Days
(@Jessica K.) Why when you try to type in the part of the song you want example: 00:52-01:22, it doesn't take out that part it starts from the beginning and goes up to 40 seconds

(@Lori T.) are these problems being adressed? i mean can anyone even receive a ringtone without running into this problem? they're 25 seconds every time!
+1 Day
(@Jessica K.) I am having the same trouble. Sending the full 40 second clip wasn't a problem at first. Now it's cutting of the song. I don't get the full effect of the ringtone. Can this problem be handled soon please? Would it help if I put longer samples?
+4 Days
(@Ben Guild) I'm having the same issue. I'm on Verizon... does that make a difference? I never had this trouble before.
+1 Hour
(@Kim H.) Verizon unfortunately degrades the quality of ringtones longer than that. We've tested a lot of things and unfortunately this is the safest method versus your phone sounding like it's ringing underwater.
+2 Hours
(@Ben Guild) I am having the same problem through Verizon. However, all tones I downloaded prior to the site makeover were longer than 25 seconds, and did not sound "like it's ringing underwater". Maybe only certain phones do that? I dunno, but I'd rather have a tone that's slightly worse quality but doesn't cut out mid-verse than have it do so and sound absolutely perfect. I just don't get how all of a sudden we're forced to deal with 25 second caps, when there hasn't been a problem in the past, at least that I have encountered.
+3 Days
(@Ben Guild) I have Verizon and the sound quality has never been a problem, just the length of the clip as everyone on the thread has mentioned. when i first starting using your site about 2 years ago i sent 40 second clips all the time. now they're getting cut off at 25 seconds...and it's rare to find a verse or chorus of a song that isn't at least 30...
how can this be fixed?
and i have the exact same phone, receive my tones the same way....nothing has changed since i started using the site
+4 Days
(@Ben Guild) I'm on Verizon, and all my tones sounded fine. I'd rather have them sounding ok and be longer, than 25 seconds on perfect quality.
+1 Day
(@Ben Guild) I've been on here for a few years now and had no problem with the quality of my songs on Verizon. It seems everyone can agree with me on that one. Why do you have to cut them short? Just go back to the way things were. Why change something if people are happy with it?
+2 Hours
(@Jessica K.) i have the same problem..before this whole makeover..the ringtones were not cut short..ever since they made this whole makeover this website has changed alot..
+1 Day
(@Ben Guild) Hello there... I am still having the ring tone cut off is there an update or something I don't know about. I have an env2 and just cuts off... I have done ring tones that are only 30-35 seconds and will cut off early. I also have verizon. Please advise. Thank you in advance.
+1 Day
(@Jessica K.) Mine is doing the same thing. I just got my new phone and Im using the same songs I used on my old one, starting in the same place and they are all cut down to 25 seconds. I was going to donate to get all my rings back but not if they are cutting them off. I also use the pic text
+8 Hours
(@Jessica K.) At least ur getting a 25 sec one. I'm not getting anything. I even made a 2nd account cuz I got two phones. Still no text with the ringtone! That's 2 different phones. 2 different phone numbers. Still no pix text with a ringtone in it. Idk what to do now. I tried everything. The only other way I know to get a ringtone on my phone is to hook up computer speakers, and voice record. lol I guess that would be a shortcut. And from the problems you guys are having with song length. We all be better off just voice recording. Then making it a ringtone.
+2 Days
(@Ebon Dara McGlown) ok i've already shortened my ringtones & still not receiving a pic msg. just keep getting emails that the ringtone is ready to be downloaded. when i go thru my mobile web browser w/ the link it doesn't give my anyother option

(@Jessica K.) This is ridiculous... They need to fix the problem and apologize to their users because I am never using this again
+20 Days
(@Stacy S.) well, for what it's worth, i can tell you that i've had this problem on occasion myself even before they did the makeover. it's still unexplained. it doesn't do it all the time, just sometimes, with certain songs. as much as they say it's fixed or that it shouldn't do that, it just does, and it's not just you. :/

(@Jessica K.) I have sent about 10 ringtones in the last few days...and half of them I never rcvd and the ones I did receive THEY WERE CUT SHORT...whats going on!!
+10 Days
(@Anna Mlynarczyk) OK, this is getting very old! What's going on? I have never had this problem before, until last week! If I wanted my ringtones to cut off during the "good" part, then I would make them that way!
+3 Days
(@Jessica K.) I am having the same problem. Did they change their policy or something???
+20 Days
(@Becky S.) I don't understand why everyone is having the same problem and nothing is being done about it. I just recieved a ringtone that was 5 seconds long. I'm just going to write off Mobile17 and go to another site!
